Senior Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper

Bigmore Associates is a long-standing and well-established financial services firm that offers a wide range of support and financial services to businesses and individuals. 

We are looking for a Full Time Senior Accounts Assistant to join us. Our office is based in Walton on Thames and this role is a hybrid working position with 3 days in the office and the flexibility to work 2 days a week from home. Our office hours are 8.30am to 5pm*

*Initially, flexibility will be tailored to your training and you will need to be in the office more to start with. This will allow you to learn the role as well as train with and get to know the team.

What skills, qualifications and experience do I need to have?

  • 4+ years experience in an accounts role or similar, with experience using Xero.
  • AAT or similar qualifications are welcome, but hands on experience is more important. 
  • Experience of line management and team management a bonus. 
  • Strong attention to detail is a must, as well as great organisational and time management skills.  
  • Ability to work in as a small but vital team as part of a larger organisation. 

What are my key responsibilities?

  • Preparing financial statements, such as budgets ready for senior team
  • Ensuring accounts are accurate and correct, in preparation for reporting to senior team, Board and accountants. 
  • Preparing and processing employee wages, sales commission and expense claims.
  • Work with rest of accounts team to manage shared inbox and ensure relevant information is correct and up to date

What do I need to bring to Bigmores?

  • Ability to work directly with Head of Finance and have great interpersonal skills to help link and unify multiple areas of the business. 
  • Confidence to be able to identify and suggest best practices that are consistent across the business. 

What is the compensation package?

The salary range for this role is £30,000– £35,000. Final agreed salary will depend on your qualifications and experience. 

Our team is also eligible for a 10% discretionary bonus annually, which will depend on company profits, hitting your KPIs and exhibiting the behaviours we expect from our team, in line with our core values of:
